When you play Path of Exile 2, it’s easy to wonder: “Is this item really mirror-tier?” Today I’ll teach you simple, child-level ways to check this, while also sharing real, practical tips that actually help you in the game.
1. Start With the Stats — Are They Almost Perfect?
A real mirror-tier item usually has very high or max-roll stats.
Here’s the easy rule:
If the item’s important mods are 90%+ of the max roll, you should pay attention.
If 3–4 key mods are near perfect, this item is likely very valuable.
For example, a bow with almost perfect physical damage, attack speed, and crit chance is already close to mirror-tier.
Use common PoE 2 currency like Divine Orbs to check or adjust rolls little by little. Don’t waste them all at once—slow and steady wins.
2. Check the Mods — Are They “Best-in-Slot”?
Mirror-tier gear doesn’t just have good numbers. It needs the right combination of mods.
Ask yourself:
Is this a mod that top players look for?
Are these mods useful for many builds?
Does the item have both prefixes and suffixes that fit perfectly?
For example, things like:
“+ to Level of All Spell Gems”
“% Increased Physical Damage”
“+ % Critical Strike Multiplier”
If an item has several top-tier mods together, you might be looking at something very rare.
This is where having enough PoE 2 currency matters. Many players get strong bases first, then slowly improve them. If you want to move faster, you can buy PoE 2 currency and upgrade safely.
3. Compare With Market Items
This trick is gold for beginners and pros:
Check similar items in trade.
Look at the best ones.
Compare your item’s numbers and mods.
If yours is close to the best listed, it’s mirror-tier or almost there.
Tip: You only need to compare same item type + same mod style. Don’t compare swords with axes—that’s like comparing apples and oranges.
4. Check the Base — Low Base = Not Mirror-Tier
Even with perfect mods, a bad base can kill the value.
Mirror-tier items usually come from:
High-level drops
Strong crafting bases
Influenced or special mod pools (depending on the league)
Always upgrade your base with items like:
Exalted Orbs
Chaos Orbs
Ancient Orbs
These currencies help you reroll or improve the item before crafting deeper.
5. Crafting Path — Is It Even Possible?
A truly mirror-tier item must be:
Extremely rare, or
Extremely expensive to craft
Here’s a simple goal path you can follow:
Step 1: Find a good base
Step 2: Use Alterations to hit key mods
Step 3: Use Regal Orb → Annul Orb to isolate the good mod
Step 4: Add more strong mods using Exalted Orbs
Step 5: Use Divine Orbs to perfect rolls
Step 6: Protect your item with good currency management
If following these steps would normally take hundreds of high-value orbs, then the item is mirror-tier.
Some players use third-party trade helpers like U4GM to speed up currency access, but one mention is enough.
6. A Simple Rule to Remember
If an item checks all three:
Almost perfect rolls
Best-in-slot mod combinations
High-value crafting difficulty
Then congratulations — you’re holding a mirror-tier item.
If you’re unsure:
Always keep the item instead of selling it too fast.
Many players discover later that the item they sold cheap was actually worth a fortune.
